The Ballarat Vintage Tramway is located in the Botanical Gardens, on the western shore of Lake Wendouree.

By car from Melbourne :

Take the Western Hwy and pass through the city centre. Then travel along Sturt Street and turn right at Hamilton Avenue, which is about 3 kilometres from the City centre.  Signage indicates the “Tourist Tramway”..

By car from Adelaide :

Travel along the Western Highway and under the Arch of Victory.  Turn left at Hamilton Avenue which is about 300 metres past the traffic lights at Gillies Street.

By train and bus :

Take a train from Southern Cross Station to Ballarat. For time table and other information go to the V/Line website or the Viclink website at www.viclink.com.au

Take the Number 16 Bus to Wendouree Village via Lake/Gardens from outside Ballarat station to the stop in Gillies Street which serves the Ballarat Aquatic Centre.  This stop is at the rear of our tram depot.  On Sundays the bus now connects with most trains from and to Melbourne.  For Public Holidays, the Sunday bus service operates. Note the timetable shows the bus originating at City Centre, but currently it operates from the Railway station. There is a timetable board on the Railway station bus stop in Lydiard St North. Bus timetables can be found at www.viclink.com.au Your V/Line rail ticket includes metropolitan travel in Melbourne and travel on buses within Ballarat.
