An invitation to Join the Ballarat Tramway Museum Inc.
The Ballarat Tramway Museum Inc. is a volunteer group dedicated to conserving, for the future generations, portion of the former State Electricity Commission's tramway system that ran in Ballarat until 1971. The Museum invites you to become a member of this enthusiastic team of volunteer supporters. Workers are most welcome and we offer a range of tasks including:
Staffing the Museum display area at the depot.
Tramcar repairs, maintenance and restoration.
Track and overhead repairs.
Conducting and driving trams.
Administration activities, including working in our archives and collection management area.
There is no obligation to take part in any of the activities.
Members receive Fares Please! the Museum's newsletter by post or by E-mail every two months and are entitled to free rides on the Museum's trams. Ballarat Tramway "eNews" is also available to members and friends. The Annual General Meeting is usually held in October/November and is an occasion for Members to get together. Afternoon tea is served after the meeting. Other gatherings and special days are held occasionally. The Museum also sells a range of souvenirs and publications at the Tram Depot or are available via Mail Order.
